Eventually, the Pendulum will Swing Again!
Life comes in waves. Sometimes, the wave is high and you marvel in its beauty, only to be smashed by its power, only to enjoy the quietness as the next wave loads up.
Every first day of the month, I send you a letter focused on helping you become the best you. You can subscribe here so you do not miss any letters:
To YOU:
Who’s persistently pursued a dream through the years and is in need of a big break;
Who’s felt stuck at a job or career for a while and earnestly needs clarity or a new opportunity to come along;
Who’s eagerly looked forward to falling in love and getting married, but it seems to elude you; and
Who feels battered and bruised by life, like life just isn’t worth living anymore, and is desperately crying out for a breakthrough.
I would like you to know that:
EVENTUALLY, THE PENDULUM WILL SWING AGAIN.
Life comes in waves. Sometimes, the wave is high and you marvel in its beauty, only to be smashed by its power, only to enjoy the quietness as the next wave loads up. — Anonymous
Do you know that nature has a rhythm? A set pattern that allows for life to exist on the planet. From the flow of your breath in and out, the day turning into night and back into day, the ebb and flow of ocean tides, to the flow of seasons and the cycle of life – birthing, growing, and dying. For every high, there is a low. For every low, there is a high. This principle is called the Law of Rhythm and it manifests everywhere. These rhythms establish seasons, cycles, stages of development, and patterns.
Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates. — The Kybalion.
It is because of this rhythm that the universe is likened to a Pendulum. Think about one of those big, old-timey clocks where the second “hand” swings back and forth. That is a pendulum – it alternates between opposites and moves between two extremes.
Everything in the universe is involved in a dance – swaying, flowing, swinging back and forth. We even see examples of this in the economic markets, our health, relationships, and spirituality. There is a high period and then a low period. Each phase serves a different purpose and function, but together, they are vital to the full picture.
Just like there’s rhythm in nature, there is also rhythm within us. Our lives are locked in waves, in flows, and in rhythms. As aptly put by American author, Darren Hardy’s mentor:
Life, growth, and achievement work like a pendulum. On one side you have failure, rejection, pain and sadness. But on the other side, you have success, victory, joy and happiness.
The Law of Rhythm helps us understand that there will be seasons of success and seasons of what appear to be defeat or failure or standstill. There will be the high moments and the low moments. Neither one is more important than the other.
Mike Nichols, when interviewed by Charlie Rose said:
Life is a pendulum. I love the pendulum! When you are swinging to the bad, you are building up energy for the swing back to the good side.
So, to you out there who probably thinks that the pendulum of your life has stayed on one extreme for far too long. Perhaps the results, wins, and big breaks haven’t come yet. Perhaps the future looks bleak at the moment. Perhaps it looks like heaven’s doors are shut on you. Perhaps it looks like all hell has been let loose on you. Allow me to remind you that, eventually, the pendulum will swing again.
Your job is to stay focused on your vision and go with the rhythm, instead of resisting it. Keep planting, keep watering, keep pruning, keep weeding. Keep building the right systems, keep cultivating the rights habits and practices. Keep doing and giving your best every single day. Keep showing up for yourself every day. You owe yourself that. And the results will come. Though they tarry, and we often want them immediately, they will come. And you’ll be glad you didn’t give up or give in.
Hang in there, buddy. Eventually, the pendulum will swing again.
Your time and chance are coming.
And you better be prepared 😊.
Love and Light,
O’Seye
