It's Okay To Have Doubts and Fears: Lesson 7 of 31
Courage isn't about being fearless, for if there were no fears, there would be no need for courage; it's about facing fears head-on.
Every Monday, I send you a letter focused on helping you become the best you. You can subscribe here so you do not miss any letters:
Throughout my journey, doubts and fears have been constant companions. I have learned to push past them and take action in spite of them.
Transitioning across different roles, doubts and fears surfaced. What if I failed? What if I wasn’t good enough? Starting my podcast, newsletter, and even embarking on this #LifeLessons series, I felt the weight of uncertainty. What if my work wasn’t received well? Who even sent me? These questions haunted me as I ventured into unfamiliar territory.
Entrepreneurs and leaders experience the same. How do I know? Because I've interviewed them on my podcast - Origins Africa. You can listen to some of these conversations here: Origins Africa Podcast.
Remember, doubts and fears are a natural part of the human experience. They don't define us; it's how we confront them that matters. Courage isn't about being fearless, for if there were no fears, there would be no need for courage; it's about facing fears head-on.
Embrace your doubts and fears as opportunities for growth. Instead of letting them hinder you, allow your curiosities to guide you forward. Remember, everything you desire lies on the other side of your doubts and fears.
Asking myself, "What is the worst that can happen?" grounds me and helps me confront my fears directly.
Curiously, what keeps you grounded and assists you in facing your fears? Let me know :-)
Wishing you courage and clarity on your path,
O’Seye
